The Company Section is the senior section of the Company. The age group covered makes this the most difficult Section to which to attract boys and, more particularly to retain them into their teens. The fact that we have had reasonable success in doing this reflects very much on the varied

programmed that we try to offer.

A typical Friday evening starts at 7.30pm with the boys lined up in their Squads  for an 'Opening Service'. This is basically a brief talk by one of the Officers on a subject of his choice, trying to bring in an appropriate message. The 'Service' ends with a prayer and is followed by a Uniform Inspection. It is emphasized at the Inspection that failure to achieve a good standard of turn out lets down no only the boy himself, but also the other members of his Squad. It is remarkable how much attention the boys do actually pay to their turn out

After the Inspection, the boys participate in a variety of indoor sports and classes on subjects designed to take them through the B.B. badge programmed. There are 5 Badges and three stages to each (Community, Physical, Adventure, Leadership and Interest). Some of the badge work involves outdoor activities such as Hill Walking and Camping while other work such as the final stage of Leadership requires attendance at external course run by the B.B. Work which can be done on Friday night includes Photography, Model Making, Computing,  Drumming etc.

Promotions

Are given to Boys who have shown that they have the attitude to accept the responsibility of showing a good example to the younger Boys to ensure the Company runs smoothly.
